About us Purple Hand Africa is an organization in Zimbabwe that is working with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI+) community with the aim of promoting healthy mental wellness, humanizing LGBTQI+ narratives, pushing for improved and sustainable livelihoods as well as driving for a more integrated and inclusive society.

Zimbabwe’s LGBTI community is facing an increasingly hostile environment as the government tightens its grip on their rights. Homosexuality is widely viewed as taboo, with many Zimbabweans believing it goes against their cultural and religious values.
